Sport festival held in Homs on occasion of the world autism day

Directorate of Education in Homs province, in cooperation with Syrian Special Olympiad Institution, held a sport festival entitled / be with me in my world / on the occasion of the world autism day.


The festival was held at Ghassan Ibrahim school with participation of about 150 boys and girls from different schools.

Director of Education Department in Homs, Walid Merei, said that the process of integrating those with autism in schools is very important, affirming their right to learn altogether with their good colleagues.

National Director of the Syrian Special Olympiad, Talal Barneih, told SANA that the festival is the first of its kind in Homs and comes in the framework of an understanding memo signed between the Olympiad and the Ministry of Education.

“The agreement between Education Ministry and the Olympiad would contribute to integrating children with disabilities and showing their role in society,” Barneih said.

The event included artistic and sport parts.
