Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and President of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) Moushira Khattab have witnessed the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between the two sides in line with the first national strategy for human rights which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi last year.

The strategy aims to promote social, economic, political and cultural rights in the country.

The sports minister said cooperation between his ministry and NCHR is meant to spread the culture of human rights in society, and raise public awareness about those rights through youth and sports facilities and entities nationwide.

Sobhi underscored the importance of sports in conveying various messages to a wide range of fans, noting that such a role can be used for spreading the culture of human rights.

The protocol is the start of further cooperation with the National Council for Human Rights in the coming period, the minister added.

Meanwhile, the NCHR chief said the protocol is a joint cooperation program for preparing young cadres specialized in spreading human rights across Egypt.
