Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi revealed that the State is currently cooperating with Egyptian scientists abroad to manufacture the first local electric car.

Speaking at a session entitled “Green Industry… The Way to Cop27” at the “Egypt Can with Industry” conference, Morsi said the expansion in manufacturing vehicles that run on electricity, gas or dual-fuel would bring health and environmental and economic benefits.

The military production minister sheds light on cooperation with the privately-owned MCV company to manufacture the electric bus (SetiBus) that would be used for the transportation of COP27 guests in Sharm El Sheikh next November.

He noted that the Military Production Ministry would start the production of the Egyptian-UAE bi-fuel pickup vehicle (EM) in the first half of 2023, in cooperation with the M Glory Holding.

Morsi stated that his ministry is cooperating with the Egyptian private sector to manufacture a car replacing the three-wheeled tuk-tuk, pointing out that this new vehicle would run on gas and gasoline in the first stage and run on electricity in the second stage.

Held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Egypt Can with Industry Conference is organized by the Ministry of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Public Business Sector, and the Ministry of State for Military Production.
