Amman: Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said that the house will provide the government with medical exemptions related to cancer patients it receives in a timely manner, and it won’t accept a delay in approving them, and they are available to citizens at all times.

“Providing health care has been the focus and attention of His Majesty King Abdullah,” Safadi said in a house permanent office meeting on Wednesday with Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Wajih Azaiza, and Minister of Health, Firas Hawari,.

Safadi commended role of the King Hussein Cancer Center, and medical, nursing and administrative staff.

The meting saw the agreement to organize the process of issuing medical exemptions as of today, under which medical exemptions would be split through the concerned directorate in the Lower House, with cover letters signed by the MP, copies of the medical report on the patient’s condition and his personal identity, and the family book for pediatric patients. Each MP has 10 medical exemptions per month, excluding exemptions related to cancer patients, provided that medical exemptions would be issued within a maximum period of 48 hours from the submission of the application.
