The clashes between Sudan’s Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried on Tuesday in separate areas in the capital, Khartoum, although a new truce came into effect.
The Sudanese Armed Forces’ aircraft bombarded some RSF targets in several parts, eyewitnesses told KUNA.
Meanwhile, South Sudan’s Foreign Ministry announced that the two rivals accepted a 7-day ceasefire truce.
The ministry said in a statement that the Sudanese Army chief Abdulfatah al-Burhan and RSF head Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo agreed initially on the new truce as of May 4.
In the same context, South Sudan President Salva Kiir stressed the importance of consolidating ceasefire for a longer period and appointing representatives for peace talks, according to the statement.
