Supply Ministry: No change in system for selling subsidized bread

The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade denied reports circulated by some media outlets claiming that Egypt’s system to distribute subsidized bread to the citizens will be changed as of Tuesday, February 1.

In a statement released on Monday, Supply Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Kamal said there is no change in the smart-card system for selling subsidized bread.

Supply Minister Ali el Moselhi has directed all supply directorates nationwide to maintain regular distribution of subsidized bread to citizens on daily basis, added the spokesman.
