Syria, Brazil discuss means of enhancing bilateral relations

Head and members of the Syrian-Brazilian Friendship Committee at the People’s Assembly stressed the importance of parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries and the necessity of enhancing and upgrading them in the interest of the two peoples.

 

The head and members of the committee, during a meeting with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil in Damascus, Fabio Vaz Pitaluga, pointed out to the necessity of boosting economic, cultural and educational exchange between the two countries, as well as inking trade agreements and increasing   the level of trade exchange between them.

 

 

 

They stressed the importance of that the Brazilian Parliament to get acquainted with the state of stability in Syria and the recovery process that is hindered by the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the country.

 

For his part, Ambassador Pitaluga described the Brazilian-Syrian friendship as “historical and renewable”, stressing his country’s supportive stance for Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence of its decision and non-interference in its internal affairs.

 

He expressed his government’s keenness on developing economic and trade relations with Syria, noting that his country continues to provide scholarships to Syrian students and organize joint cultural events.
