Syria, Indonesia to boost bilateral trade cooperation

Charge d’ affairs of the Syrian Embassy to Indonesia, Abdul Moneim Annan, discussed on Tuesday with Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Arsjad Rasjid , means to improve trade relations between the two countries.

“The aim of the meeting is to hold an interactive dialogue on ways to raise the level of cooperation between the two countries,” Annan said.

For his part, Rasjid affirmed Indonesian side’s willingness to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian side and to hold a virtual meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Business Sectors in Syria.


He added that Indonesia has many companies in the fields of innovation, technology, digital economy, financial and interconnected technologies, which are considered useful during the reconstruction process in Syria, stressing the importance of communication between the authorities concerned in the two countries.

Rasjid said that Syria will be invited to participate in the B20 Business Summit, which will be held in synchronization with the G20 summit in Bali in October 2022.
