Syria participates in Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments

Today, the Syrian delegation is scheduled to continue participating in the conference’s meetings, where the participants will discuss issues of sustainable development and other issues that are related to the international peace and security.

The agenda of the two-day conference includes parliamentary and international topics and issues, and the sessions include discussion panels that address specific topics such as gender equality, the Coronavirus pandemic, the climate change, transparency and security of parliaments and global governance, in addition to focusing on parliamentary dialogue to create effective pluralism that will ensure peace and sustainable development.

 

On the sidelines of the conference, the 13th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament will be held, which will discuss the evaluation of the latest developments in light of the Coronavirus pandemic and its effects on women and girls, and it will search for targeted measures to find solutions to deal with this pandemic in a gender-equitable manner.
