Syria reported on Monday 61 new Covid-19 related cases, in addition to 315 recoveries and 3 deaths, Health Ministry said in a statement. The statement showed that the total tally of infections recoded in the country has reached up to 51,402, of which 38,618 have recovered, while the fatalities have amounted to 2,989. Indian Paula Panchi band performed a musical dance concert at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus on Monday evening in which the band brought the culture of its country, which embraces cultures and traditions dating back to thousands of years, to Damascus.

The concert, which held by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations at the Indian Embassy in Damascus, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, came as part of India’s celebrations for the 73rd anniversary of the Indian Republic Day and the 75th anniversary of its independence.

Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mshaweh stressed in a speech during the ceremony, the strength of distinguished relations between Syria and India throughout history, and their role in conveying knowledge, science and ancient heritage to the whole world.

Minister Mshaweh pointed out the deep-rooted cultural ties between both countries, hailing the influence of Arab civilization in India.

In a similar speech, Indian Ambassador Mahender Singh Kanyal pointed out that India is a pot in which various philosophies, ideas and beliefs are mixing, stressing that India firmly stands by the Syrian people.

He expressed his country’s commitment to providing all humanitarian aid and participating in the reconstruction.
