Syria wins bronze medal in European Mathematical Olympiad for Girls

The National Syrian Scientific Olympiad’s team in mathematics won a bronze medal and an appreciation certificate in the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) organized by Hungary remotely, on April 8th and 9th.

Student Mary Seif Askar, from Tartous, won the bronze medal, while the student Bana Fadel Muhanna, from Aleppo, gained a certificate of appreciation, according to statement by the Excellence and Creativity Authority.

The authority said that this is a new international achievement by the Syrian Olympiad team, as this is its first participation in the European Mathematical Olympiad among 56 participated countries.
