Syria wins two gold medals at the chess championship

Damascus countryside, SANA- Syria’s National Chess Team won two gold medals in the Arab Championship for age categories.

Mazen Fendi won gold medal for the ten-year category, while Karim Al-Atrash attained his gold medal in behalf of the eight-year category, two rounds before the end of the tournament.

The tournament kicked off last Wednesday with the participation of 144 chess players representing six countries apart from Syria.

The tournament is currently held at the Sheraton Maarrat Sednaya Hotel, Damascus countryside.
