Syria,Iran sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU)in the field of research and postgraduate studies

Tehran, SANA- Damascus University and Malek Ashtar University of Technology (MUT) in the Iranian capital, Tehran, signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the field of research and postgraduate studies, which should have great cooperation in the field of industries, technical sciences, mechanics, robotics and computer science.

The memorandum was signed on the Syrian side by Dr. Mohammed Yasar Abdeen. Rector of Damascus University, and on the Iranian side, Dr. Qassem Taqizadeh, Rector of Malik al-Ashtar University, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Shafik Diop, and Dr. Aqil Mahfoud, Director of Cultural Relations at the Ministry.

Minister Ibrahim stressed the importance of benefiting from the scientific and research capabilities of Malik Al-Ashtar University, using them, and linking them on the ground to industrial and productive projects.

In turn, Dr. Taqizadeh affirmed full readiness to cooperate with Syrian universities in the field of research and graduate studies.
