Syrian football team beats Saudi counterpart 2-1 in U-23 WAFF Championship

Riyadh, SANA- The Syrian national football team beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 in the group stage of the 2022 West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) U-23 Championship held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The goals of the Syrian team were scored by Mahmoud al-Aswad and Mohammad Rihaniya, bringing the score of the Syrian team to three points in the second group, awaiting the match between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia at the end of the first round to determine the first three places.

The Syrian team had lost a match with Bahrain 1-2 in the opening of its participation in the championship.
