Muscat, SANA- Syrian Ambassador to Muscat, Dr. Idris Maya discussed Monday with Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al-Mahrouqi, means to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between the two sides.

Aspects of scientific cooperation and prospects for its development were also discussed during the meeting, particularly in terms of enhancing exchange and coordination between higher education institutions and universities, including the exchange of professors and the increase of scholarships in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels between both countries.

The Omani minister voiced her welcome to strengthen cooperation with Syria in the sector of higher education and scientific research, and presented the renaissance her country has achieved in this field.

For his part, Ambassador Maya gave a presentation on the reality of higher education and scientific research in Syria, stressing that this sector also receives special care from the Syrian government.
