Syrian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai hosts Food Industries Forum

The commercial section of Syrian pavilion taking part in Expo 2020 Dubai organized the Syrian Food Industries Forum with the presence of more than 70 representatives of the public and private sectors in many Arab and foreign countries.


The forum, which is attended by the UAE, Oman, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Australia, Uganda and Malaysia, aims to present the Syrian food industry sector, attract direct investment and develop business, and to provide an opportunity for the participants to learn about economic opportunities in Syria and discuss topics of mutual interest.

The forum comprised about 35 Syrian companies representing the food industries sector as some companies gave a presentation on their products and the extent of their readiness to export and sell them in the Arab and international markets.

“Food industry in Syria is one of the most important economic sectors for its close association with the Agriculture sector”,Dr Ghassan Abbas, Chairman of the Syrian Mission in the United Arab Emirates and the Commissioner –General of the Syrian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, said.

The forum of Syrian food industries comes on the sidelines of the Gulfood Exhibition being held in Dubai World Trade Center adjacent to Expo been considered as the largest gathering of food industry sector in the Arab region.
