Warsaw SANA- Syrian national team player for billiards, Muhammad al-Sufi, qualified for the final round of the World Championship, being held in Poland.

Al-Sufi won over his Chinese counterpart 8-11 in an unprecedented achievement of any Arab player.

Al-Sufi made it to the semi-final beating World Champion and winner of European Open Pool Championship, Austrian billiards player Albin Ouschan, 11-8.

Al-Sufi is the owner of the gold medal of the nine-ball singles competition in the West Asian combined Arab Championship for Billiards and Snooker Championship.
