H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, today met separately with Gustavo Petro, President of the Republic of Colombia, and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) at Expo City Dubai.

H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed discussed with the presidents of Colombia and Kazakhstan bilateral relations between the UAE and their respective countries and ways to push them forward in various fields, especially sustainable development.

H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun also reviewed with the two state guests a number of issues on the COP28 agenda and the importance of working through the conference to produce practical outcomes that advance the course of international climate action for the good of humanity.

The two presidents praised the initiative announced by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during his keynote speech at the ‘Global Climate Action Summit’ regarding the establishment of a U
S$30 billion fund for climate solutions worldwide and its importance in bridging the financing gap in the field of global climate action and finding solutions to common challenges.
