Baghdad, The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, discussed with the Spanish Ambassador to Baghdad, Pedro Martinez, the development of scientific relations and academic programs between the two countries.
During his meeting with the ambassador, the Minister of Education affirmed the keenness of Iraq and its university institutions to strengthen productive global partnerships and develop bilateral relations in the fields of higher education and scientific research with the countries of the European Union, especially the Kingdom of Spain on the scientific and cultural level, and to achieve positive climates for communication between Iraqi universities and their Spanish counterparts and to benefit from global experiences in the field of educational systems and their modernization, as well as the promotion of programs for the exchange of scholarships , experiences and joint scientific research undertaken by the universities of the two countries.
For his part, the Spanish ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to develop paths of cooperation and strengthen partnership with Iraqi higher education institutions in accordance with the goals of sustainable development, in cooperation with relevant international organizations, referring to the positive indicators achieved in the Iraqi environment of higher education and scientific research and its openness to attracting international experiences and interacting with them.
