Baghdad, The Minister of Justice, Khaled Shawani, discussed today, Monday, in his official office, with the Italian Ambassador in Baghdad, Maurizio, expediting the procedures for signing legal and justice agreements between the two countries, in a way that serves the interests of Iraq and Italy.
Shawani stressed during the meeting, the Ministry of Justice’s interest in organizing relations and memorandums of understanding with the Italian side in various fields, and addressing the legal problems that the Iraqi government seeks to solve.
The Minister pointed out that the government adopts a policy of openness to all countries, including Italy, and in this regard, the study of mutual legal documents and the organization of agreements to be concluded with the Italian Ministry of Justice will be completed.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador praised the reform measures taken by the minister, especially in the file of the Iraqi Reform Department, which is consistent with human rights standards.
