Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Makram Al-Qaisi on Monday chaired a meeting of the Higher and Coordination Committees of the International Conference of Mosaic Cities due to be held in Madaba in October. Al-Qaisi told the meeting, which was attended by local officials and parties concerned with preparation for the conference, that his ministry attached great importance to cleanliness at tourist attractions in cooperation with municipalities. He said the Greater Madaba Municipality’s winning of the cleanliness award is an added value to the tourism product in the city, located south of Amman. The ministry, he added, viewed the conference as a global platform to promote the tourist and archaeological sites in Madaba, and its historical heritage, stressing that the Ministry, the Tourism Promotion Board and the Department of Antiquities place all their capabilities for the success of the conference.
