Trade minister in talks with Samsung chairman on electronic projects

Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir said on Sunday 6/11/2022 Samsung project in the Egyptian market is one of the most important electric appliances projects that help strengthen national industry and increase employment rates, especially in Upper Egypt governorates.

He reiterated the ministry’s keenness on luring more investments of global companies into the Egyptian market, especially in the manufacturing of high-technology appliances.

The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Samsung Egypt board chairman Chunki Kwan.

Talks tackled the progress rate of the company’s current projects and its expansion plans within the coming period.

Samir said the ministry is keen on offering all needed support to all investment projects operating in the Egyptian market and iron out all hurdles facing them.

He added that the ministry seeks to develop infrastructure of all industrial zones across the nation to facilitate setting up new projects in the different industrial sectors.

Kwan said the company seeks to let in new products in the Egyptian market and increase exports to regional markets.

He added that the company exports 85 percent of its products to markets of 50 states in the Middle East and African and European continents.
