Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir, accompanied by Qalyubia Governor Abdel Hamid el Haggan and Daqahlia Governor Ayman Mokhtar, on Friday 04/02/2022 inspected ongoing construction works at a new road axis that stretches from Banha to Damietta and links the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road with the International Coastal Road, at a total length of 140 km.
The new axis, which includes 15 bridges, is expected to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods in the governorates of Qalyubia, Sharqia, Daqahlia, Damietta, Gharbia and Kafr El Sheikh.
During his inspection tour, the transport minister issued directives for adhering to high quality standards in executing all works and the set timetable for finalizing the project, as well as outlining a plan for the optimal utilization of spaces under bridges.
