Tunisian poet and critic Moncef Ouhaibi won the Sharjah Award for Arabic Poetry Criticism in its third edition at the 20th Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival.

The first place prize rewards Ouhaibi’s research entitled “the Structure of Discourse in Contemporary Arab Poetry.”

The second and third prizes went to Moroccan critics Anouar Benaich and Hussein Benbada.

Moncef Ouhaibi is one of the greatest Tunisian and Arab poets in contemporary times. In addition to poetry collections, he is the author of documentaries and fictions, mainly Que toute chose se taise (Janvier 2012).

This 20th edition got underway on January 8 and will run over seven days with the participation of nearly 70 Arab poets and critics.
