The Tunisian Post recorded a net profit of TND 106 million at the end of 2022, up significantly on the results recorded for 2020 (a profit of TND 2.8 million) and 2021 (a profit of TND 20.7 million),” announced Director of Treasury at the Tunisian Post Rim Jammali in a statement to TAP.
“The Post has managed not only to clean up its previous financial situation, characterised by successive losses, to reach an accumulated deficit of TND 120 million in 2019, but also to reconstitute and increase its equity capital, which has helped support its financial strength with regard to its partners and prove that it is a financially stable entity,” she added.
This performance, achieved for the first time in its history, is a clear indication of the Tunisian Post’s ability to maintain stable and sustainable growth, she pointed out.
“Indeed, the improvement in the Post’s results is the fruit of hard work over the last few years and the implementation of an ambitious strategy since 2019, which covers several aspects in
cluding the optimisation of management processes, the control of operating costs and the profitability of investments, as well as strategic choices prioritising the development of innovative services with high added value,” the official underlined.
The Tunisian Post has continued to invest in the digitisation of financial services, which has helped it gain “a head start over the banks by offering customers digitised payment methods (e-dinar smart card, prepaid cards, mobile payment, etc.),” she said.
“To this should be added the investments made by the Tunisian Post, notably the installation of new ATMs, currently totalling 700, up by more than 50% compared with 2019,” added Jammali.
The Tunisian Post, which has the most extensive branch network in the world, comprising 1,200 operating sites, has “relied heavily on its human capital of 8,000 employees to achieve its objectives,” she specified.
