Istanbul The Turkish Intelligence Service announced the killing of a leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in a security operation in northern Iraq.

A source in the Turkish Intelligence Service said in a press statement today, Friday, that the leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Saad Ali Badal, who occupies the position of the organization’s military official in the Sinjar region in northern Iraq, was killed in a security operation carried out by a group of Turkish intelligence elements.

The source indicated that the leader of the Workers’ Party, “Saad Ali Badal,” nicknamed “Jaco Bear,” participated in operations against bases belonging to the Turkish armed forces, and led the organization’s activities against the intelligence service in the Sinjar region.

The Turkish security source stated that the intelligence service assigned a special team to monitor the activities of “Badal” in Sinjar. The team moved after information about this leader’s preparation of a new plan to attack the Turkish Armed Forces base in “Bashiqa” in Mosul, and managed to kill him before carrying out his operation in the city of Sinjar.
