The United States government late Sunday expressed its serious concern about the situation in Israel following the dismissal of the defense minister, who demanded to freeze the mechanism for amending the judicial system, according to the Washington Post. U.S National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a statement, “we are deeply concerned by today’s developments out of Israel, which further underscore the urgent need for compromise.” “We continue to strongly urge Israeli leaders to find a compromise as soon as possible,” she added.
