Abu dhabi: UAE Team Emirates, recently recognized as the UCI World Tour Best Team for 2024, has announced a significant contract extension with World Champion Tadej Pogacar, securing his place with the team until 2030. Pogacar, who joined the team in 2019, has achieved considerable success, amassing 88 victories across various racing formats. According to Emirates News Agency, Pogacar was named UCI World Tour Best Rider for the fourth consecutive season following his remarkable 2024 campaign. His achievements include victories at the Tour de France and Giro D'Italia, alongside impressive wins in one-day races such as Strade Bianche, Liege-Baston-Liege, and Il Lombardia. Pogacar's triumph at the UCI World Championship in Zurich further solidified his status as a cycling powerhouse. Notably, his triple crown win of the Giro D'Italia, Tour de France, and World Championships marks the first such accomplishment since Stephen Roche in 1987. Pogacar's record-setting 25 victories in 58 days of racing also stand out in the annals of professional cycling. Pogacar expressed his pride in extending his contract with UAE Team Emirates, highlighting the team's role in his career achievements. He conveyed his intentions to continue striving for victories with the team, which he regards as his home for the past five years.
