UAEU Unveils Ambitious AI Agenda 2025-2031 to Boost Academic Excellence

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has introduced its Artificial Intelligence Agenda 2025-2031, aimed at strengthening its academic and research programs in alignment with the country's strategic focus on AI integration. According to Emirates News Agency, the launch event was graced by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of the UAEU, along with several academic and administrative personnel, and faculty members. During his address, Nusseibeh highlighted the alignment of UAEU's AI Agenda with the UAE Cabinet's adoption of the nation's stance on AI policy at an international level. "This significant step reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing the university's status as a leading institution in higher education, research, and community service, while also embracing modern technologies," Nusseibeh stated, underlining the university's dedication to equipping future generations with essential technical and technological skills. Nusseibeh further e xplained that the UAE's leadership is proactively forecasting future trends, positioning the country as a leader in AI through various strategic initiatives. These include the implementation of the UAE's National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, part of the UAE Centennial 2071 plan, the appointment of the world's first Minister of AI, and fostering an innovative environment in advanced technologies. Dr. Fekri Kharbash, Acting Dean of the College of Information Technology, provided an in-depth overview of the UAEU AI Agenda's pillars and objectives. The agenda aims to enhance the university's role as a comprehensive academic and research institution, encourage an innovative environment driven by advanced technologies, and place the university at the forefront of institutions integrating AI into education, research, and administrative functions.
