Unconstructive attitudes towards Syria must be reconsidered, Lavrentiev says

Russian President’s Special Envoy for Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev demanded reconsidering the unconstructive attitudes towards Syria.

“We call on the international community to reconsider the unconstructive attitudes towards Syria,” Lavrentiev said in a statement on Monday cited by TASS News Agency, stressing that this approach is completely wrong and has very serious consequences.

Lavrentiev referred to the wide support provided by his country to Syria in various fields, saying that as it appeared during the discussion of this issue in the previous meeting on the displaced in Syria, a large number of Russian ministries and agencies are making efforts to find ways to provide assistance to the Syrians.

He added that Moscow has delivered a lot of basic commodities to Syria with the participation of government and private sectors in this work, noting that his country is looking at other options to help Syria.
