UNESCO includes al- Qudud Halabiya in world heritage list, Ministry of Culture: a step to preserve national identity

UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) included on Wednesday al- Qudud Halabiya in the world heritage list, during the meeting of the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in France.

 

Ministry of Culture said, in a statement to SANA, that part of the ancient Syrian society’s culture and heritage is added to the world human heritage along with the announcement,  which constitutes an additional step to protect and preserve the national identity.

The Ministry stressed  that al- Qudud Halabiya reflects the depth and authenticity of the Syrian artistic identity.

 

The statement added that the Ministry congratulates Syria and all Syrians for the inclusion of al- Qudud Halabiya on the UNESCO list of human heritage .

 

It  thanked the Syrian citizens for supporting  the registering of al- Qudud Halabiya on the list of human heritage.

 

The Ministry also  thanked the Syrian Trust for Development for its great efforts in preparing the Qudoud file and following it up at UNESCO.
