AL AIN: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has joined the Francophone University Agency (AUF) as an associate member, with an aim to strengthen its presence in the global academic scene.

In a statement today, the University described the development as an achievement that affirms its ‘commitment to improving the quality of higher education and scientific research, which reflects its ambitious vision and comprehensive strategy.’

According to the statement, this cooperation could include the exchange of students and researchers and contribute to enhancing mutual understanding of cultures between the UAE University and other higher education institutions in the Francophone space.

Dr. Ghaleb Al Bariki, Acting Director of UAEU, stated that the university’s joining the Francophone University Agency, which is one of the most important associations of higher education and scientific research institutions in the world, reflects its strong commitment to continuing to improve the quality of higher education a
nd scientific research and activating opportunities for integrating and employing graduates.

GAZA: Several civilians were killed and others injured today in the continuous Israeli bombardment of several areas in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli warplanes launched intense and violent raids on several areas east of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. A civilian was killed and several others were injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted a residential house west of Khan Yunis.

Three people were also killed and several others were injured in an Israeli strike targeting a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that dozens of citizens, mostly children and women, were killed and injured today in the ongoing Israeli raids on the Strip.

The continuing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since 7 October has resulted in the killing of some 21,000 citizens, and the injury of around 54,000, more than 70% of whom are women and children.
