US dollar exchange rate declines against EGP

The exchange rate of the US dollar against the Egyptian pound slightly declined on Wednesday, after the Central Bank of Egypt raised the interest rate by 1% in March.

At the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr, the dollar rate was down, recording EGP 18.23 for buying and EGP 18.29 for selling.

At the Commercial International Bank (CIB), the dollar exchange rate decreased to reach EGP 18.24 for buying and EGP 18.31 for selling.

As for main currencies’ exchange rates, world capital markets and banks are being affected on the back of repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, with euro prices increasing for selling and buying.

The euro price registered EGP 19.16 for buying and EGP 19.31 for selling at Banque Misr and the NBE.

At the CIB, the euro price hit EGP 19.19 for buying and EGP 19.34 for selling.

The pound sterling at the NBE and Banque Misr registered EGP 22.63 for buying and EGP 22.86 for selling.

At the CIB, the pound sterling exchange rate amounted to EGP 22.73 for buying and EGP 22.88 for selling.

The Saudi riyal price stood at EGP 4.85 for buying and EGP 4.87 for selling at Banque Misr and the NBE.
