US Assistant Secretary of State Barbara Leaf expressed Friday her country’s support for the agreement between Baghdad and Irbil on the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan region.

In a statement, the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq said that this came during a phone call between the US official and the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, during which she congratulated him on the signing of the recent agreement with the Federal Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani.

During the call, the US official stressed her country’s support for the full implementation of the agreement.

The two sides also discussed the latest political developments as well as a number of topics.
