Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir stressed the ministry is racing against time to launch the Egyptian commercial fleet to contribute to transporting Egypt’s foreign trade and capitalize on the volume of trade with Europe and East Africa region.
Lines for Egyptian ships will be operated passing through North Africa and heading to European countries and other lines for East Africa, added Wazir.
Wazir’s remarks came at an expanded meeting with Head of the Maritime Transport Sector Reda Ismail Wednesday.
The minister added the sea transport strategy aims to develop and increase the competitive edge of maritime harbors and support the Egyptian maritime commercial fleet to transfer 25% of Egypt’s foreign trade.
