RAMALLAH: In the span of less than 12 hours, Israeli occupation forces have Monday shot and killed five Palestinian youths in separate military raids and incursion into several areas in the occupied West Bank cities and villages, according to official and security sources.

In Jenin, where the Israeli troops are conducting a massive military raid that has so far caused severe damage in streets and infrastructure, Thaer Naeem Hamo, 21, died after he was shot in the abdomen by the occupation forces. He was taken to the Al-Hadaf Medical Center, where doctors persistently attempted to treat him and failed.

A massive march was launched in Al-Yamoun, a Jenin-area village, where the slain youth is from, denouncing Hamo’s killing, as the National Action factions mourned him, and said his funeral procession will take place at noon today.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said a Palestinian young man was killed, and three others were seriously injured, during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces in the t
own of Dura, south of Hebron.

It said that Moataz Mahmoud Atbeish, 30, was killed as a result of serious head injuries.

Moments later, the Ministry issued a statement that said that a Palestinian youth has succumbed to the wounds he sustained from Israeli gunfire in Dura.

The statement added that Muhannad Ismail Al-Fasfous, 18, died as a result of critical wounds he sustained with live bullets from the occupation in the chest.

The occupation forces had stormed the town with military reinforcements, sparking confrontations, during which they fired live bullets, rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades, and poisonous gas towards the citizens, wounding four young men with live bullets.

Israel’s thirst for Palestinian blood didn’t stop there, and even proceeded to claim the life of a child near Bethlehem, as Palestinian security sources confirmed.

They said that Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian a child in the town of Tuqu, southeast of Bethlehem. Shortly, the director of the municipality of
Tuqu’, Tayseer Abu Mufarreh told WAFA that Rani Yasser Khalaf Al-Shaer, 16, died as a result of being hit by live bullets during the confrontations that broke out in Khirbet Al-Deir area.

The sources added that the occupation forces didn’t allow ambulance crews to reach al-Shaer, and thus left to bleed until he died of his injury.

In Ramallah, a Palestinian youth was killed by Israeli forces during confrontations that broke out in the town of Silwad, to the east.

Security sources told WAFA that Obaida Hassan Abdel Rahman Hamed, 18, was killed as a result of being shot in the chest with live bullets, and that his body was transferred to the Ramallah Medical Complex.

With the killing of Hamed, the number of slain Palestinians in the West Bank since today’s morning has risen to five, and since the start of the aggression on October 7th to 378.

According to official statistics published by Doctors Without Borders, 2023 has been the deadliest for Palestinians in the West Bank since OCHA started recording casu
alties in 2005, surpassing the death toll of 2022, which itself was among the deadliest. Palestinians in Gaza have also faced record-breaking death tolls, with more than 26,000 people killed so far in Israel’s aggression against the Strip.
