DUBAI: László Borbély, State Counsellor to the Romanian Prime and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, affirmed that the World Governments Summit (WGS) can serve as a springboard for collaboration towards a better world.

In a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM) on Day 1 of WGS 2024, being held in Dubai, Borbély said, ‘We have to change our mentality. We have to become game changers. We have to look to digitalisation not as an enemy but as a friend,’ noting that it is more optimal to use digitalisation is to address the root of the problem, by understanding and listening to one another, and holding discussions collectively and positively.

The Romanian official explained that operating with compassion will serve to create a better, more sustainable world, while also utilising advanced technology.

He concluded by calling on nations of the world to come together to achieve common goals.
