GENEVA: Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), praised the outcomes of the UAE-hosted 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), which dedicated a Health Day for the first time in COP history.

In his opening remarks at the 154th session of the Executive Board in Geneva, the WHO Director-General said that COP28 succeeded in supporting more than 50 countries to build climate-resilient and climate-friendly health systems.

“With our partners in the Quadripartite, we have supported many countries to develop One Health action plans, recognising that the health of humans, animals and our environment are closely linked,” Dr. Ghebreyesus added.
