The United Nations General Assembly kicked off in New York today its 78th session, which will continue until the 26th of September, in the presence of President Mahmoud Abbas and world leaders and figures. President Abbas is scheduled to deliver a speech before the General Assembly on Thursday. This year’s session is held under the theme, ‘Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and the sustainability for all.’ United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres presented the opening speech, followed by US President Joe Biden. Speeches by other world leaders to continue.
