Baghdad, The Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, confirmed that the coming days will witness a lot of work to achieve security and stability in the Sinjar district, pointing to Iraq’s rejection of any aggression on its lands, and in return it also rejects any aggression against Turkey.

Major General Yahya Rasool said, in a press statement, that “there are units of the Command of the West Nineveh Operations Forces in Sinjar, and they are responsible for protection and security in Sinjar,” noting that “the directives in this regard are clear, as security and protection for the citizens of Sinjar rests with the Iraqi armed forces and Iraqi army units.”

Major General Yahya Rasool pointed out: “There is good work and high coordination taking place, and a good presence of army units in these areas, and there is also follow-up from the highest levels regarding Sinjar and what is happening there and the issue of implementing the Sinjar Agreement.”

The Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces indicated that “the coming days will witness a lot of work on the issue of stability and everything our people need in Sinjar district.”

Regarding the attacks on Sinjar, Major General Yahya Rasool stated, “The external targeting of Sinjar is present and indicated by us, and there is diplomatic work for the Iraqi government and it is working with the Turkish side.”

He concluded by saying: “We do not accept that there are attacks on Turkish lands, and at the same time we do not accept that there are attacks on Iraqi lands.”
