The Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Ma’rib Governorate, northeast of the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, issued an urgent appeal to the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to intervene to provide relief to those affected by the torrential rains, according to “Russia Today” news agency. Heavy rains continued in most Yemeni governorates during the past week, causing human and material losses as a result of the torrential rains that swept away camps for the displaced and farms. A distress call was sent to the United Nations, humanitarian organizations and local, regional and international relief bodies, to quickly intervene to provide relief to those affected and provide their basic needs of shelter, food and shelter materials.
