Up to 1,958 insurance policies were delivered on Friday to fishermen in Alexandria, as part of “Decent Life” initiative, launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Manpower Ministry said in a statement.

In Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan’s speech delivered on his behalf by director of the manpower department in Alexandria Yasser Saeed during the ceremony, Saafan highlighted that the government has paid much focus on the workers, especially the fishermen.

The provided EGP 100,000 insurance policy for fishermen covers the incidents that could occur to them during their work, he added.

Renewed annually, it should cover the full and partial disability, or deaths for the fishermen during their risky working environment, Saafan said.

The ministry has delivered 200,000 life insurance policies to fishermen till now.
