A national project to achieve social development has contributed to implementing 2,103 ventures in May using loans worth 300 million pounds, the local development minister has said.
Those projects have helped secure 18,000 jobs for youth across Egypt, Mahmoud Shaarawy said in a statement Friday.
He put the total number of ventures implemented so far at 172,365 with loans worth 19 billion pounds, adding that more than 1.7 million jobs have been created in the process.
Shaarawy said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is concerned with the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and always orders coordinated action to ease obstacles facing youth.
