Minister: State exerts efforts to attract investments

Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said the State exerted unprecedented efforts to upgrade the infrastructure that includes electricity, gas and roads over the past five years.

 

The move is meant to set the stage for attracting and encouraging investments, added Maait at a meeting on Saturday 11/12/2021 with Tanzanian Minister of Finance Mwigulu Nchemba and Minister of State for Finance and Planning of the Government of Zanzibar Jamal Kassim Ali.

 

During the meeting, Maait talked about Egypt’s economic reform program and key national income resources in the country such as Egyptian remittances, exports and tourism.

 

The Egyptian official underlined Egypt’s keenness to boost vistas of cooperation with Tanzania.

 

Nchemba commended achievements by Egypt in having a strong infrastructure.

 

He said he is looking forward to capitalizing on the Egyptian experiment in financial reforms.

 

Nchemba hailed fruitful cooperation with Egypt in establishing Julius Nyerere hydropower plant and dam.

 

Ali said there are several investment chances in energy and tourism fields.
