Sisi arrives at new capital’s cathedral to greet Copts on Christmas

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital Thursday 6/1/2022 to offer his greetings to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese and the Coptic Christians on the occasion of Eastern Christmas.

 

The president was received at an entrance leading to the church by the Pope and a number of bishops participating in the prayers. He was warmly welcomed by worshippers who raised Egyptian flags and greeted him with flowers.

 

The president shook hands with a number of the participants in the prayers who presented flowers to him.

 

Pope Tawadros II led the Christmas mass that was attended by senior state officials, governors, representatives of Al Azhar and the Awqaf Ministry.
