Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said Egypt is moving ahead toward digital transformation in various state sectors.

He made the remarks on Saturday 29/01/2022 in a speech delivered on his behalf by his deputy for public treasury affairs Ihab Abu Eish on the International Customs Day.

He said the customs authority is training its cadres for digital transformation, referring to the progress realized by the Finance Ministry in modernizing the customs mechanism, especially through enacting the new customs law and applying the one-stop shop system.

For his part, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya said the International Customs Day is held this year under the theme of “Scaling Up Customs Digital Transformation by Embracing a Data Culture and Building a Data Ecosystem.”
