Sisi congratulates Hungarian PM over winning legislative election

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a telephone call on Tuesday 5/4/2022 with Hungarian Prime minister Viktor Orbán to congratulate him on the ruling party’s win of legislative election.

Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said president Sisi asserted that the win reflects the trust of Hungarian voters in Orbán’s ability to lead his country in during the coming phase.

President Sisi hailed Egyptian-Hungarian relations at all levels, expressing hope for boosting them, said the spokesman.

For his part, the Hungarian Prime minister thanked Sisi for his warm feelings, saying he is keen on pursuing consultations and coordination on issues of mutual concern and latest regional and international developments.

He praised Egypt’s role in strengthening peace and stability in the Middle East, the Mediterranean region and African Continent.

According to the spokesman, they exchanged viewpoints on regional and international issues of mutual concern and the conditions in Ukraine.

Orbán claimed a “great victory” in Sunday’s general election, as results gave his Fidesz party the lead.

Addressing a jubilant crowd chanting his name, Orbán said: “We have won a great victory — a victory so great you can perhaps see it from the moon and certainly from Brussels”.
