Manama, Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has congratulated Morocco’s House of Councillors Speaker, Enaam Mayara, on her unanimous election as new President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) for the period 2023-2024.

Mayara, who succeeds Pedro Roque (Portugal), was elected on the sidelines of the 17th PAM plenary session hosted by the Moroccan parliament on Wednesday and Thursday.

Al-Saleh lauded Mayara’s remarkable leadership and diplomatic experience, which entitles her to lead the major regional parliamentary organisation.

The Shura Chairman praised the distinguished global status enjoyed by sisterly Morocco, citing its contributions to safeguarding world security and peace.

He wished Enaam Mayara every success in achieving PAM’s goals, and continued progress and prosperity to Morocco, under its leadership.
