‘Battle with the mind has to be won to succeed in any venture’, notes popular content creator at Dubai’s 1 Billion Followers Summit

DUBAI: ‘The content of your entire life is your mind. If you focus on changing what you expect to see when you look at the world, you will change your entire reality. No matter where you are today, it doesn’t mean you can’t be something radically different five years from now,’ said YouTuber Tom Bilyeu in his keynote address ‘Your Mind Makes the Content: Look After It’ on the concluding day of the second edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai.

Bilyeu, who is the co-founder of the billion-dollar brand Quest Nutrition and the co-founder and host of Impact Theory, told his audience how he changed from not being able to get out of bed in the morning to building three very successful multimillion dollar companies in software, nutrition, manufacturing and now media. This, according to him, was achieved by understanding that ‘the mind creates the content’.

Bilyeu, who is in his 20s, said resilience is key to success: ‘You will never build a billion-dollar business if you don’t understand business, or t
he product or don’t know how to fight through if you get kicked in the face.’ He added that his favourite quote was legendary American footballer Koby Bryant’s ‘Boos don’t block dunks’, and hence the booing and cheering from the crowds did not matter. ‘You can get so good at something that they can’t stop you,’ he added.

He exhorted people to pour energy into life since anything left alone in the universe can turn chaotic. ‘You have to add more value than the next person in your audience’s life – that value can be you, entertainment or knowledge,’ said Bilyeu.

According to the influencer, people fail because they let dreams die and because they feel they are not good enough. ‘You can make your life anything you want it to be, so start building self-esteem and build the mind into something incredibly powerful’, he concluded.

Organised by the first digital media institution of its kind in the Middle East, New Media Academy, the UAE’s premier hub for content creation is taking place on January 10-11, 2024, at
the Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future in Dubai.

The largest event of its kind globally, the Summit brings together over 3,000 content creators, influencers and creatives from all around the globe, including 100 expert speakers, to address and inspire over 1 billion people around the world and discuss new media’s role in supporting economies and contributing to sustainable development agendas.
