We in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) believe that the military operation of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the occupied Zionist entity is a natural right and an appropriate response to the crime of targeting the Iranian consulate in Damascus, as a result of which a number of commanders from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps were killed,’ Hamas said in a statement on Sunday.

It called on all Arabs, Muslims, and the ‘free people of the world’ to support the Palestinians’ right to their own state, arguing that the people of the region have a ‘natural right’ to ‘defend themselves in the face of Zionist attacks.’

Iran on Saturday night and early Sunday launched hundreds of missiles and drones at key military sites in the Israeli-occupied territories in retaliation for the regime’s airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Syria that left seven military advisors dead on April 1.
